Breyer Capital is a premier global venture capital investor focused on catalyzing high-impact entrepreneurs in the United States, China and in emerging markets like Africa and MENA.  Founded by Jim Breyer in 2006, we make long-term, idea-driven strategic investments in our chosen core areas: artificial intelligence, healthcare, consumer, fintech, and sustainability. We actively partner with a diverse set of companies including early-stage startups building breakthrough technologies, fast-growing companies, and established worldwide leading corporations.  Our team enjoys helping to frame strategic investments anchored by the passion of founders and owner/operator teams, the insights of our network of world-class investors, and a conviction that artificial intelligence and machine learning will transform technology and investment opportunities globally. We believe that technology is an enabler, not a replacer.

We are genuinely committed investment partners.  Our team is passionately dedicated to making a positive impact on the companies where we are part of the team.  We seek out entrepreneurs who have an exceptional track record in both positive and negative market environments as well as a clear history of intellectual and personal leadership.

We are long-term thinkers.  As a result, we have often invested and will often invest in opportunities that go against the prevailing bias.  We push investors and business leaders to continuously test hypotheses and pride ourselves on maintaining openness to experimentation that can lead to long-term breakthrough performance.

We invest in groundbreaking and compelling opportunities, no matter what form they take.  Our primary focus is on early-stage and high growth companies in the U.S. and China, but we also invest in:

We are students. We learn by listening to our entrepreneurs, fellow investors, and competitors.

Breyer Team

Our team is guided by principles of humility, integrity, and a passion for true long-term risks and bets that can result not only in significant financial returns and outcomes, but in dramatic social impact as well.
